Μερικές φορές συμβαίνουν πράγματα που αλλάζουν εντελώς τη ζωή μας. Στην περίπτωση αυτή, είναι ένα μικρό κορίτσι που ήρθε στον κόσμο έχοντας τέλεια υγεία. Ωστόσο, η ζωή της Cheyenne Rae Owensby άλλαξε ριζικά όταν έμεινε υπό την επίβλεψη του πατέρα της.

Λίγο αργότερα έλαβε και ένα τηλεφώνημα από την αστυνομία. Ο πατέρας είχε ομολογήσει πως είχε χτυπήσει το μικρό κορίτσι.

Ο άντρας που είχε αγαπήσει τόσο πολύ από το πανεπιστήμιο έκανε ότι χειρότερο θα μπορούσε να κάνει ένας γονιός στο παιδί του.

Παραδέχεται πως έχασε τη ψυχραιμία του. Καταδικάστηκε σε 20 χρόνια φυλάκιση και η μητέρα έμεινε μόνη της να παλεύει για τη ζωή της κόρης της. Οι γιατροί λένε πως δεν είχε πολλές ελπίδες να βγάλει τη νύχτα και πως εάν από θαύμα ζούσε, θα παρέμενε “φυτό” για την υπόλοιπη ζωή της.
